Starfinder – Season of the Witchwarper

It is the spooky time of year again, and Starfinder provides a lot of undead and other creepy monsters to give your game a seasonal flare, but one thing is as yet missing. There isn’t a Witchwarper class graft to make crazy space witch mobs for your players to TPK against. So until one is published (as I have no doubt it eventually will be) here is an ad-hoc one to use for your monsters.

First, if you haven’t used class grafts before, you can find them on page 137 of Alien Archive 1. Also, this is a very important quote “you should use either the adjustments entry for the creature type graft or the adjustments entry for the class graft—not both.” That doesn’t mean they don’t get any of their creature type abilities, there is a budget in the class graft for that, just that they don’t get the full suite of adjustments and abilities of their base creature type.

WITCHWARPER CLASS GRAFT

These spell casters can warp reality with their magic, peering into alternate time streams and using their dimensional echoes to twist and reshape the world.

Special Rules: In general, spells must come from the witchwarper spell list, unless a paradigm shift is used to expand their spell choices.

Required Array: Spellcaster.

Adjustments: None.

Skills: Master Mysticism and good Diplomacy or Bluff.

Ability Score Modifiers: Charisma, Dexterity, and Wisdom.

Gear: Light armor (item level = CR), small arm (item level = CR), and basic melee weapon (item level = CR – 1).

Abilities by CR

CR 1: Infinite worlds and one special ability.

CR 3: Infinite worlds, one 2nd-level paradigm shift, and one special ability.

CR 5: Infinite worlds, one 5th-level paradigm shift, one 2nd-level

paradigm shift, and one special ability.

CR 6: Infinite worlds, alternate outcome 1/day or one special ability, one 5th-level paradigm shift and one 2nd-level paradigm shift

CR 8: Infinite worlds, alternate outcome 1/day or one special ability, one 8th-level paradigm shift,

and one 5th-level paradigm shift.

CR 11: Infinite worlds, alternate outcome 1/day or one special ability, one 11th-level paradigm shift, and one 8th-level paradigm shift.

CR 12: Infinite worlds, alternate outcome 2/day or alternate outcome 1/day and one special ability, one 11th-level paradigm shift, and one 8th-level paradigm shift.

CR 14: Infinite worlds, alternate outcome 2/day or alternate outcome 1/day and one special ability, one 14th-level paradigm shift, and one 11th-level paradigm shift.

CR 17: Infinite worlds, alternate outcome 2/day or alternate outcome 1/day and one special ability, and two 14th-level paradigm shifts.

CR 18: Infinite worlds, alternate outcome 3/day or alternate outcome 2/day and one special ability, and two 14th-level paradigm shifts.

My players are about to confront a powerful drow spell caster, so this is a perfect opportunity to employ the class graft and make the deadly house mistress they must face. As mentioned before, we are forgoing the Humanoid creature type graft because we are applying the class graft. And because she is a drow noble, we’ll be spending her special ability on SR. The party is getting higher level these days, so I’m going to go with CR 12, giving her all the abilities on the CR 12 line of the class graft, like so:
