One of the more interesting twists in the PoE games is that for reasons known only to themselves the gods occasionally gift (or curse) a child to carry some small echo of their aspect. These strange offspring can arise in any race, and while they may somewhat resemble their parents, they also resemble some part of the portfolio of the deity they reflect. Godlike are not beholden to the deity they represent, but their ‘patron’ may take a special interest in the lives of their ‘child’, often construing events so that the Godlike is thrust into conflict on the side of this third parent.
I really like this idea, and that it largely takes the place of the plane-touched races from Pathfinder/D&D3/5 (Aasimar, Ifrit, Oread, etc..). If you would like to add Godlike to your Pathfinder game, consider the following write up:
Godlike are humanoids that have been touched at conception by a deity or similar power, giving them strange features and powers unlike their birth race, and leaving them unable to produce children of their own.
Society: Godlike do not have society of their own, often remaining in among their parents peoples. The touch of the gods leads people to have expectations (both good and bad) of Godlike, even though they may have little to nothing in common with the deity that gave rise to them. As such, many become spiritual leaders, and just as many become disaffected outcasts rebelling against the roles society thrust upon them.
Relations: Godlike, while distinct, largely reflect the racial relations of their parent’s race.
Base Godlike Racial Traits:
+2 Wisdom: all Godlike seem to have the gift of insight
Native Outsider: Godlike are outsiders with the native subtype
Medium: Godlike are medium creatures (unless they are born to a race that is smaller or larger, in which case apply the appropriate stat adjustment of their parent race)
Languages: Godlike begin play speaking the languages of their parents race, as well as the planar language most aligned with their Godlike aspect (Celestial, Infernal, Abyssal, etc).
